Before you start
You need:
- a Mac (the skill doesn’t work on Windows, according to the README);
- Claude Desktop with the Claude Max plan;
- 15 minutes to create 3 accounts: Apify, TubeLab and Google AI Studio. Claude tells you where to click.
Prices to know: some keys can cost money (Apify: free up to $5 a month, then small amounts per search). Claude warns you before each sign-up. Always check prices on the official pages.
The message to copy
You are my guide to install the Head of content skill (https://github.com/bradautomates/head-of-content, MIT license, built by an independent creator, not by Anthropic). I'm not technical: talk to me in simple words.
Before starting, read the repository's README so you are up to date. Then do everything you can do for me: download the repository, prepare the keys file (.env from .env.example), check that Python 3.8 or later is installed.
For what I have to do myself (create my Apify, TubeLab and Google AI Studio accounts, copy my keys, import the 6 .skill files into Claude Desktop), give me ONE instruction at a time, with the exact place to click, then wait for my "ok" before going on.
Rules:
- Before I sign up anywhere, tell me whether it's paid and how much (from the official pages).
- Never display my keys and never write them anywhere other than the .env file.
- Ask me which accounts to follow (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X) and write them into the right files in the .claude/context/ folder.
- If a step fails, explain simply why and suggest the simplest fix.
At the end, run "Run content-planner" for my first content plan and explain how to read the result.
How it works
- Open Claude Desktop on your Mac.
- Copy the message above and paste it into Claude.
- Answer its questions. It does the rest, and tells you when it’s your turn.
To make it work well
- “No accounts configured”: you haven’t given it accounts to follow yet. Tell Claude, it adds them.
- Apify’s free limit is reached: follow fewer accounts, space out your searches, or move to a higher plan.
- A menu has a different name: look for “Skills” in Claude Desktop’s settings, or ask Claude to guide you.
