What is this guide about?

A qualification call is there to understand where the person stands and to get them to book the next step. Your AI assistant writes a 6-step structure tailored to you, with the sentence to decline respectfully. You rehearse it with the assistant on a mock call.

What you will have at the end

  • A 6-step qualification call script with the timing and the exact sentence to say at each step.
  • A grid of 4 criteria to decide who deserves a call, and the sentence to say no with respect.
  • A one-page note sheet to fill in during the call.

The bigger the red area, the more this guide makes you work on that skill.

Before you start: gather 3 things (10 minutes)

  • Your offer: who it is for, what it brings, its length and its price.
  • What you want to know before saying yes: for example available time, budget, what the person already tried.
  • What happens after the call: a second meeting with you, a payment link, a trial period. The call exists to book that next step.

The message to copy

You are going to help me write the script of my qualification call. I'm not technical: talk to me in simple words and go one step at a time.

Rules: invent no figures or results. Write no promises. The goal of the call is not to sell, but to understand the person, check they can be helped and get them to book the next step. Honest, warm tone, no pressure.

Step 1. Ask me my offer (who it is for, length, price), what I want to know before saying yes and what happens after the call. Also ask me how I talk (formal or relaxed).

Step 2. Suggest 4 criteria for a person to deserve a call (for example: adult, aware of the problem, available to follow the offer, budget consistent with the price). Adapt them to my offer and have me validate them.

Step 3. Write the script in 6 steps, with a duration for each (10 minutes in total). It can be done out loud or by message:
1. Opening (1 minute): thank the person for filling in the form or booking the call, with a human touch.
2. Discovery (4 minutes): ask what pushed them to do it, what they already tried, what got in the way. Write the questions and two follow-ups to dig deeper.
3. Goals (2 minutes): ask what they expect from the call and which goals they want to reach, to get an idea in advance instead of improvising on the day.
4. Availability (1 minute): have them confirm the day and time. It prevents no-shows.
5. Peace of mind (1 minute): remind them the call is free and without commitment, so they come relaxed and open up more.
6. Recap (1 minute): confirm with them everything that was said, take notes.
For each step, give: the goal, the exact sentences to say, what I should note down, and in one sentence why this step matters.

Step 4. Write the sentence to say no with respect when the person can't be helped (budget, availability, different need), with useful advice for what comes next.

Step 5. Play a hesitant person and have me rehearse the call. Correct me at the end: what went well, a single point to improve.

Step 6. Give me a one-page sheet to keep in front of me during the call: the 6 steps, the questions and a notes table (name | goal | obstacle | availability | budget | decision).

How it works

  1. Open a new conversation in your assistant (Claude, ChatGPT or another).
  2. Paste the message above and answer its questions about your offer.
  3. Do the rehearsal with the AI, then copy your one-page sheet.

To make it work well

  • Don’t pitch during discovery. Ask the next question until you have understood the obstacle and the goal.
  • Leave silences. After an important question, wait for the answer.
  • Have them confirm the day and time and remind them the call is free and without commitment: they come more relaxed and open up more.
  • Always offer two time slots for the next step instead of an open question.
  • Saying “this isn’t for you” is a help. It is better to say it early, with advice, than to accept a client who doesn’t fit.
  • If you record the call, tell the person and get their consent first.

Frequently asked questions

How long should the call last?

Aim for 10 minutes for the qualification call. If you go over, you are often explaining your offer instead of understanding the person.

What if the person asks the price right at the start?

Simply say you will give it at the end, once you have understood their situation. Ask the AI for a natural sentence to say it.

I do everything by private message, not by phone. Does it work?

Yes. The 6 steps also work on video or in messages. Ask the AI for a version adapted to messages.

Can I use ChatGPT instead of Claude?

Yes. The message works in both. Pick the assistant you are most comfortable with.
